The Higher and Technical Institute, Mizoram (HATIM) has for itself and for the youth of the society for the first time a two days, fun filled festival called the HILL FEST to be held on the 15th and 16th March, at HATIM Campus, Kawmzawl Lunglei. The main objective is to create an annual youth festival that is intimate fun, thought provoking and sometimes challenging.
The main idea behind this college festival is to provide a positive engagement for students and youths, especially the southern part of Mizoram where creativity and ideas will be nurtured. The Festival is organised by the HATIM College and is open to all, while interest groups or individuals can join and take part in the festival in various means and activities.
The main philosophy behind this festival is “Learn while you have fun”. The college feels that it would be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the diversity yet united culture of our society through their creative and innovative participation. This festival is aimed at creating events where college students and youths of our society finds an array of events and activities to participate in and get to experience varied aspects of life learning lessons and qualities like leadership, organizational skills, team work, personality and soft skills developments and many others.
Apart from various activities and fete stalls as a means of fun and learning, the festival is characterised by few big and productive events like:-
- Talent Hunts (The Hills got talent) where judges are invited esteemed and renowned personalities in the Mizo society (Mizoram)
- Original Film Festival where originality and creativity will again be celebrated through short films which again will be judged by Esteemed and renowned personalities in the field.
- Music and Band Competition
- Arts – Painting, Photography and handicraft exhibition and competition
For all these various events there will be worthwhile prize money from the first to third position holders. Apart from these events and competitions, the festival is also characterised by various fete stalls for fun and food stalls for replenishing energy.
Important: as this festival is open to all youths apart from the students, private firms or organisation and or any interested party may open stalls in the festival with the following process and conditions.
- Cost of stall registration is Rs. 200
- Cost of rent of stalls for two days is Rs. 1000
